Job Title: Financial Manager – Loyalty and Rewards Company

Role Overview:
This is a permanent position.
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Financial Manager to join our dynamic team in the loyalty and rewards industry. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, with specific expertise in IFRS, liabilities management, and advanced data analytics. This role will be pivotal in ensuring the financial health and strategic growth of our company.
Key Responsibilities:
Financial Reporting & Compliance:
- Prepare and present financial statements in accordance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
- Ensure all financial reporting is accurate, timely, and complies with regulatory requirements.
- Conduct regular audits and liaise with external auditors.
- Design and set-up a new accounting system
- Manage the day-to-day operations of the finance and administration functions.
Liabilities Management:
- Oversee and manage the company’s liabilities, ensuring optimal provisions levels.
- Develop strategies to minimize financial risk related to liabilities.
- Monitor and manage cash flow to meet the company’s financial obligations.
- Manage customer ‘Float’ accounts
Advanced Data Analytics:
- Utilize advanced data analytics to provide insights into financial performance and support strategic decision-making.
- Develop and implement financial models to forecast business performance and assess the impact of various business scenarios.
- Manage the data analytics team and enhance financial data collection and reporting processes.
Budgeting & Forecasting:
- Lead the budgeting process, including preparation, analysis, and presentation of budgets.
- Provide accurate financial forecasts and variance analysis.
- Work with various departments to ensure alignment with financial goals and objectives.
Strategic Planning and Business Development:
- Support senior management in strategic planning and decision-making processes.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support long-term business strategies.
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
- Play a key role in developing ‘Business Cases’ for New Business Development
Team Leadership:
- Manage and mentor a team of financial professionals.
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.
- Provide training and development opportunities to team members.
Stakeholder Engagement:
- Act as the primary financial liaison with internal and external stakeholders.
- Communicate financial information clearly and effectively to non-financial stakeholders.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with banks, auditors, strategic partners, and other financial partners.
Qualifications:
- CA(SA) ; MBA (Preferred)
- Proven experience as a Financial Manager, preferably within the loyalty and rewards industry banking and payments sectors
- In-depth knowledge of IFRS and experience in financial reporting and compliance.
- Strong understanding of liabilities management and risk mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in advanced data analytics tools and techniques.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Additional Skills:
- Proficiency in financial software and ERP systems. ‘Sage’ experience will be advantageous
- Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools.
- Familiarity with digital transformation and technology-driven financial solutions.
- Banking, Card, and Payments experience preferred
